This plan consists in establishing a strategy to ensure that an organization’s essential activities are maintained in the aftermath of a major disaster.
Such a plan is comprised of the following elements:
- Identification of events or situations liable to disrupt the organization’s activities.
- Identification of the risks associated with these situations or events.
- Elaboration and implementation of measures designed to prevent such situations or events from occurring, and to enable the organization to efficiently react when the threat cannot be avoided.
For such a plan to be efficient, it must be communicated to all employees. In addition, all those involved in its implementation must be trained and informed.
